A Dedication To Our Homeland

Cypriot poets came together to recite poems in Turkish, Greek, and English, at an event held at the All Saints Centre, Middlesex University,  last week. (28 March, 1998)

Poets who took part in the performance were Alev Adil, Taner Baybars, Gür Genç , Mehmet Kansu, Niki Marangou and Elli Peonidu. The poems of Lysandros Pitharos, who died in 1992, were also recited by Alev Adil and Niki Marangou.

The poetry performance, organised in collaboration with The Group for Turkish Cypriot Language, Literature and Culture and The centre for the Study of Anatolian Communities in Europe, centred on Cyprus and the various emotions and experiences linked to the island.*
